Soar into the wild blue yonder for eight magical days exploring Queensland’s remote outback, spectacular Great Barrier Reef, attending a ’60s music party at the famous Birdsville Hotel, an Outback Oom Pa Pah Oktoberfest at Yaraka, Dragon Boat Racing in St George, a progressive dinner in Longreach, Cosmos Dinner in Charleville, Beach Boys Tribute Night on Daydream Island, Wonderful Winton and the Dinosaurs.

…..and help Hummingbird House (Queensland’s only Children’s Hospice) continue its invaluable work caring for seriously ill children and their families. from all over Queensland.

Special WW2 Secrets Tour on Charleville Airport plus the Cosmos Astronomy Dinner and RAAF guest speaker, Day 2. 60s music dinner party/ show at the famous Birdsville  Hotel, Day 3. the Outback Oom Pa Pah Oktoberfest at Yaraka bush pub, Day 4. Longreach progressive Dinner from the Australian Stockmans Hall of Fame to the Qantas Museum aircraft/ hanger displays. Day 5. Outback Sunset River cruise and show.Thomson River Day 6. Luau Beach Party/feast on Daydream Island, Day 7. The Official Air Safari Awards Dinner and Presentations night.

    All activities listed in the itinerary including the dragon boat racing (day 1) Big Red Sandhills climb (day 2) Dinosaur walk – Winton (Day 4) Aquatic Festival- Muttaburra (day 5), ‘Coral Sea Olympics- Daydream Island (days 6-7).

  • As per itinerary including The Unique Egg and the Riversands Winery St George, Cosmos Centre Charleville, Lark Quarry Dinosaur Stampede/ National Park, The rebuilt Waltzing Matilda Centre plus the Australian Age of Dinosaurs at Winton, the Australian Stockmans Hall of Fame and the Qantas Museum Longreach.
  • Other.

DAY 1.
Sunday, October 7 – Start your engines – Dragon Boats on the Balonne.  Plus a million star experience at the Charleville Cosmos Centre.

We fly out of Wellcamp bound for St George and lunch…plus a spot of Dragon boat racing on the Balonne River and cruising plus winetasting at the magnificent Riversands Estate Winery.

That afternoon, we fly to Charleville for a WW2 “Secrets Tour” of the airfield and this evening’s dinner will be under the stars at the Cosmos Centre featuring a special RAAF guest speaker.

DAY 2.
Monday, October 8 – ’60s Party at the Birdsville Pub plus sunset & bubbly atop “Big Red” sand dunes

BIRDSVILLE here we come…via Windorah for a fuel stop…lunch at the bakery famous for its delicious camel pies, sunset drinks on top of Big Red overlooking the Simpson Desert and then on to dinner and a ’60s music night at the Birdsville Hotel.

BYO ’60s costume and there will also be some great prizes to boot!

DAY 3.
Tuesday, October 9 – An Outback Bavarian Oktoberfest plus the world’s only dinosaur stampede

Lunch at Lark Quarry National Park and an inspection of the Dinosaur Stampede Tracks before we fly to Yaraka – population 23 – for an Oom Pah Pah band and a brilliant Oktoberfest at the Yaraka Bush Pub.

We supply the costumes for this one…tonight’s accomodation is rugged bush style, you could call it ‘flamping’!

DAY 4.
Wednesday, October 10 – Aviation history & Stockman’s Spectacular plus a waltz with Matilda and a walk with the Dinosaurs.

Magical Winton and then over to Longreach…

Starting at the rebuilt Waltzing Matilda Centre in Winton, we then head up the escarpment to the multi-award winning Australian Age of Dinosaurs and visit its brand new experiential boardwalk along the cliff top.

Tonight is a spectacular progressive dinner – a world 1st – commencing under the rooftop of the huge new indoor rodeo arena at the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame…past the RM Williams cottage and Bush Poets’ Gardens and on to see some aviation history at its best…the QANTAS Founders Museum.

Our very special guest artist tonight is the sweetheart of Australian Country Music – Tania Kernaghan – and we will also be joined by some Hummingbird House families with a true blue local story to tell.

DAY 5.
Thursday, October 11 – Did someone say Muttaburrasaurus? Plus meet the real outback pioneers.

Outback cattle stations, fantastic Muttaburra and a sunset river cruise…

First we split up and fly out of Longreach to various outback stations including Acacia Downs, Crossmoor and Dariveen for a smoko with a delightful outback family.

Later we fly to the geographical centre of Queensland – Muttaburra – for lunch and a very special (and different) Aquatic Festival with the local mud skippers..make sure you bring your togs.

Tonight is something really special: a Thomson River Sunset Cruise followed by dinner and a bush show at Smithy’s riverside bush camp that will be an experience to treasure.

DAY 6, 7 & 8.
Friday, October 12,  Saturday, October 13, Sunday, October 14 – Daydreaming on an Island and the Coral Sea Olympics. Including a 2 night stay complete with a south sea island spectacular. 

Daydream Island here we come!

Breakfast at the Longreach School of the Air and we then fly out via Clermont for a fuel stop before landing at Whitsunday Airport in beautiful Airlie Beach for  lunch with Lee and the gang.

Later we board our ferry for our Whitsunday Passage cruise to the magnificent, newly refurbished Daydream Island Resort and Spa for a Friday, Saturday and Sunday you will never forget!

Tonight is our fabulous tropical beach party at Lovers Cove…and all the surfing, Hawaiian and Pacific Island music we can muster. We will supply your grass skirts etc.

Our super two-day Coral Sea Olympics has been designed especially for you. Try your skills at kayak racing, coral snorkelling, treasure diving, round robin volleyball, chip in golf, archery, lawn bowls and even sailing a catamaran. There’s also an island tug-of-war and a coconut ball competition…all this together with the magnificent pools and a world-class day spa – perfect for spoiling the ladies (and fellas)!

DAY 7.
Saturday, October 13 – And the fun and games continue on Daydream Island…

After a huge tropical breakfast in Waterfalls Poolside Restaurant, we continue our fun with more Coral Sea Olympics  competitions all day.

DAY 8.
Sunday, October 14 – Homeward Bound

Another big tropical brekky in Waterfalls Restaurant and then we head across the aquamarine waters of the Great Barrier Reef to Airlie Beach before flying out from Whitsunday Airport and homeward bound.

For those flying south lunch will be served at Wellcamp Airport en route to your home base✈️
